Object Companies represent your actual clients - the legal entities with whom you have signed service contracts. These are the core client entities that you provide compliance, risk management, or other professional services to.

Understanding Object Companies

What is an Object Company?

An Object Company is a legal entity that is your direct client, such as:

  • Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) within investment structures

  • Operating companies requiring compliance services

  • Subsidiaries of larger corporate groups

  • Investment entities needing regulatory oversight

Key Characteristics

  • Legal entities with formal business structures

  • Active service contracts with your organization

  • Compliance obligations requiring professional services

  • Associated parties including directors, shareholders, and beneficial owners

Object Companies Overview Interface

Main Features

  • Search functionality: Find companies by name or registration number

  • Multi-level filtering: Filter by Account, Legal Form, and Status

  • New Object Company button: Create new client entities

  • Comprehensive company list: View all companies with key details

Information Displayed

  • Name: Company name with registration number

  • Account: Associated account container

  • Legal Form: Company type (when specified)

  • Risk Level: Assigned risk assessment

  • Parties: Number of associated individuals/entities

  • Created At: Company creation timestamp

Related Navigation

From Object Companies, you can access:

  • Accounts: View the container groupings for companies

  • Parties: Manage individuals and entities that relate to companies

  • Related Party details: Direct links to individual party information

Creating a New Object Company

Step-by-Step Process

  1. Access Creation Form

    • Click "+ New Object Company" button

    • The creation modal opens with required fields

  2. Complete Core Information

    • Account: Select which Account this company belongs to (required)

    • Name: Enter the full legal company name (required)

    • External ID: Add external reference if needed (optional)

  3. Specify Legal Structure

    • Legal Form: Select from dropdown (if available)

    • Registration Number: Enter official registration number (optional)

    • Country of Incorporation: Specify incorporation jurisdiction (optional)

    • Date of Incorporation: Set incorporation date (optional)

  4. Set Risk and PEP Status

    • Politically Exposed Person (PEP): Check if applicable

    • Risk Level: Select appropriate risk classification (defaults to "Low")

  5. Save the Company

    • Click "Create Object Company" to save

    • Click "Cancel" to discard

Field Guidance

  • Account selection: Must select existing Account - cannot create Account from this view

  • Legal Form: Choose the most accurate legal structure type

  • Registration Number: Use official company registration identifier

  • Risk Level: Consider company activities, jurisdiction, and regulatory requirements

Note: User permissions may restrict your ability to create Object Companies. Some fields may be required based on your organization's configuration.

Managing Object Company Details

Object Company Information Layout

The detail view is organized into several key sections with multiple tabs for comprehensive information management.

Main Information Sections

Object Company Information

  • Name: Full legal company name

  • External ID: Reference identifier (when applicable)

  • Account: Associated account container (clickable link)

  • Risk Level: Current risk classification

  • Politically Exposed Person: PEP status indicator

Registration Information

  • Registration Number: Official company registration

  • Country of Residence: Current operational jurisdiction

  • Legal Form: Company structure type

  • Place of Incorporation: Where company was formed

  • Country of Incorporation: Incorporation jurisdiction

  • Date of Incorporation: When company was established

Primary Address

  • Street Name, Street Number, Postal Code, City

  • State/Province and Country details

Secondary Address

  • Alternative address information (when applicable)

  • Same field structure as primary address

Audit Information

  • Created: Initial creation timestamp

  • Created By: User who created the entry (with avatar)

  • Last Updated: Most recent modification date

  • Last Updated By: User who made last changes (with avatar)

Editing Object Company Information

Modification Process

  1. Access Edit Mode

    • From company detail view, click "Edit Object Company"

    • Edit modal opens with all current information

  2. Update Information Sections

    • Object Company Information: Modify name, country of residence, account, external ID

    • Registration Information (collapsible): Update registration number, legal form, incorporation details

    • Primary Address (collapsible): Edit address fields

    • Secondary Address (collapsible): Update alternative address

  3. Save or Delete

    • Save Changes: Preserve all modifications

    • Cancel: Discard changes

    • Delete: Remove Object Company entirely

Important Considerations

  • Account changes: Moving to different Account affects organizational structure

  • Required fields: System shows required field count to ensure all mandatory information is provided

  • Deletion: May affect associated Parties and documentation

Note: Delete functionality may be restricted based on user permissions and associated data.

Working with Related Parties

Understanding Related Parties

Related Parties are individuals and entities connected to the Object Company:

  • Directors and board members

  • Shareholders and beneficial owners

  • Authorised signatories

  • Other stakeholders with formal relationships

Viewing Related Parties

Within each Object Company, the Related Parties section displays:

  • Party Name: Individual or entity name

  • Notes: Role description (e.g., "Director", "Shareholder")

  • Added On: When relationship was established

  • Actions: Remove relationship option

Managing Party Relationships

Adding Related Parties

  1. Click "+ Link Party" button

  2. Search for existing parties using the search field

  3. Select appropriate party from results

  4. Relationship is established automatically

Available Parties Include

  • Existing individuals and companies in the system

  • Parties already associated with other Object Companies

  • New parties (must be created separately in Parties module)

Removing Relationships

  • Use "Remove" action for each party

  • This removes the relationship, not the party itself

  • Party remains available for other Object Companies

  • Define and manage custom fields specific to your organization

Associated Parties

  • Manage individuals and entities related to the Object Company

  • Search and filter party relationships

  • View party type, date added, and relationship details

  • Add new parties using "Manage Parties" button

Data Sources

  • View connected data source integrations (e.g., Microsoft SharePoint)

  • Monitor document sync status and schedules
